Garmin Approach S60 GPS Watch Review:

With over 10 hours of battery life, the Approach S60 is perfect for one to two rounds of golf without needing a charge. Its battery life also lasts up to 10 days in watch mode with activity tracking running in the background. Additionally, the Garmin Approach S60 tracks all steps, calories, traveled distance, and sleep. While not advertised as such, this cutting edge GPS golf watch makes for an excellent multi-sport watch that offers run, swim, and cycle modes.

Overall, it is worth considering if you are upgrading from another golf watch and are dissatisfied, because the Garmin Approach S60 is sure to fill any gap in value other watches failed to provide. However, if this is your first golf watch and you don’t want to spend $500, it is worth considering some other options.

Performance of the Garmin Approach S60 :

The Garmin Approach S60 primarily focuses on being a golf watch, but also has a ton of activity tracking and sports training modules as well. The Garmin Approach S60 comes with a ton of features that make it stand out from the competition, including its tracking technology. What really makes the Garmin Approach S60 the cream of the crop is the ability to look at your golf data after the game and analyze your performance over a course of time.

Not only are golfers able to see shot distances and dispersion, but they can also look at shots from previous rounds, note performance, and identify some mistakes that would otherwise continue to be made due to lack of observation. There are many good looking golf watches on the market, but few that allow golfers to go as far as to measure their tempo with SwingTempo, or measure their swing speed and club path information with TruSwing.

Garmin Approach S60 Look and Feel:

The Garmin Approach S60 is one of the best looking watches on the market. With a color display, clean and modern face, and easy to read display, this GPS golf watch will be an easy favorite for years to come. If there’s one thing you can count on Garmin for, it’s their ability to design phenomenal and aesthetic watches. The 1.2 inch, 240 x 240 display panel is small and subtle, but has an extremely easy to read user interface. The white band is stands out on and off the course, while the black band is a bit more discreet. Both colors pair with the solid black face very well, and this high tech watch will likely continue to please golfers for a while.

Garmin Approach S60 GPS Watch Features

The Approach S60 also comes with all the golf features that you’d expect from a golf watch, with that added bonus that it is a Garmin watch and has details for over 40,000 courses all over the world.

The new skills built into the watch are worth observation.

  • PlaysLike helps golfers select the right club for their distance to a pin, taking elevation into account.
  • SwingTempo and TempoTraining are designed to help golfers perfect their upswing and downswing posture and tempo.
  • AutoShot tracks golfers’ shots all over the course, allowing you to tag them and review them for further analysis in the future.

One of the my favorite things about the Approach S60 (and all Garmin watch products, for that matter) is Garmin’s dedicated golf app. The updated app has a ton of social features such as weekly leader boards, the ability to compare and compete against fellow golfers and friends, and view the rank of other players. All scores entered on the S60 are automatically synced up to the app.

At a first glance, the Garmin Approach S60 price might create some sticker shock. Taking in the features that the Approach S60 offers, the price is easily justified. Ultimately, the price rating comes down to a personal preference. There’s a reason that Forbes says that the Garmin Approach S60 might be the best golf watch yet, and it is priced accordingly. Trending at around $400 (and up), the Garmin Approach S60 is one of the most expensive golf watches on the market.

Thanks for sticking around for this entire Garmin Approach S60 golf watch review.  This model seems to have a leg up on other Garmin models, such as the X40 and S6, and could possibly be one of the best gps golf watches on the market.
